Driving Age
The minimum age to drive our Jet Skis is 18 years. We do have options for drivers between 16-18, if they have a passenger over 18.
Water Confidence
You must be confident floating in the water to join our jet ski tours. They is a chance you could fall off your ski and must not panic.
Duration
Your tour is made of 210 minutes on Lake Wanaka itself. Please allow 3.5 hrs for the experience as you do need to go through a safety briefing.
Capacity
We run 3 Jet Skis per tour plus our guide. Each of our Jet Skis have a maximum capacity of 2 people and a maximum combined weight of 230kgs.

How old do I have to be to drive a jet ski?
To drive our jet skis you need to be 18 years of age. However if you are 16 or over plus accompanied by a guardian over the age of 18 years you can drive the Jet ski with them behind you as a passenger.
What do I wear/bring?
We suggest you wear appropriate clothing for the conditions. Be prepared for wind chill so wear long sleeves and be pre getting your feet wet. Remember to wear sunscreen. For the 3.5 hour Mou Wahu tour bring some suitable walking shoes for the 30 minute walk on the island.
How many people can go on the Jet ski tour?
Each jet ski can sit two people and there are 3 skis available for each tour so a total of six can come on the tour.
What is the minimum age for a passenger?
Recommended 8 years old, the passenger must be able to hold on by themselves behind the driver.
Do I need experience?
Prior Jet Ski experience is required for Mou Waho jet ski Tour due to its location and frequent weather changes, our guides will still give you an induction on how to drive the Jet ski and will be with you throughout the tour.
Can I bring a camera?
Yes you can bring a camera, The jet ski will have a waterproof pocket to store some belongings such as a camera or phone, we can store other valuables in a secure box in the Lakeland trailer.
